Plumas County is a Winter Playground!

President's Day Weekend is upon us and we are enjoying some unseasonably warm weather in our neck of the woods!  There is still snow up here but with highs during the day that remind us that Spring is just around the corner we are getting pretty excited!

This weekend if you are looking for some fun, head our way and stay with us.  This weekend is the Winter Snow Fest.  Plenty of activities to participate in or just have a blast playing in the snow.

There are hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobile routes that are maintained throughout the winter season. These trails are specifically maintained for snowmobile use only.  So if you are staying with us this winter season make sure to bring your snowmobile so that you can get up close and personal with the beauty of Plumas County when there is snow blanketing the ground.

Cross country skiing and snowshoeing are also great winter activities to do when you stay.  Bring your own gear or rent your equipment when you're here.  There are several places to get gear from, so just ask us and we'll let you know where to head!

Our park is just far enough from the hustle and bustle to make you feel like you've "gotten away" but close enough that you have stuff to do and places to see.  We would love to see you or your group stay with us this winter season so give us a call at (530) 283-0769 to reserve your spot today!  We are also starting to take group reservations for the spring and summer months so make sure you reserve your groups sites now!

Still Fun to Be Had in the Quincy Area

It may not be Spring quite yet but there is still a lot going on up here in Quincy!  The weather may be chilly but the surrounding areas are as beautiful as ever!  Don't think for one second either that there aren't things to do and see when you stay with us this time of year either.  Our guests often enjoy local events while they stay with us and we always encourage them to meet the locals and enjoy our little piece of California.

Coming up soon is Mardi Gras in the Mountains on February 8th from 7-10pm.  Held in the Quincy Vet's Hall, this event is sure to be a good time.  You are encouraged to come in costume but don't let lack of a costume stop you from coming to this party!  Cajan music and plenty of beads to be had.  Tickets are $12 before the event and $15 at the door.

If you'll be with us Valentine's/President's Weekend then you will want to check out Winter Snow Fest 2013!  This is a great weekend of activities for the whole family starting February 14-18th in Eastern Plumas County.  Pack your snow gear and go sledding and throw snowballs with the family.  In the evenings there are a number of activities for adults to enjoy.  For more information and a full event list click HERE.

We would love to have you up here to our neck of the woods to experience that area in winter.  Stay in the park and its surroundings or head into town and enjoy the shops and events.  Give us a call today at (530) 283-0769 to book your spot now or for the Spring/Summer season!

RV Related New Year's Resolutions!

Happy 2013 everyone!  As we all reflect on this past year, many of us start to think about what we can do to make the new year even better.  New Year's resolutions are always made and this year is no different but how many of our resolutions are RV related?

Here are some RV related New Year's resolutions to get you thinking...

  • Stay somewhere new-  Why not explore a little?  Sure the tried and true places with friendly faces are great but think of all the new people you could meet this year just by staying at one new place.
  • Spend more time RVing-  Maybe you purchased your RV thinking that you would go on many trips a year but find it is collecting more dust than miles these days.  Resolve to make one extra trip this year!
  • Pack lighter-  Not only will this help ease travel but the lighter load will most likely save you some gas too and that will make your resolution to save money a reality!
  • Bike more when you travel-  Sure the car is convenient but if you don't absolutely need it for a trip leave it at home and bring a bike instead.  You will be saving gas and money by not towing a vehicle as well as for little trips to the market wile you are at your destination.
  • Try new recreational activities this year- Always wanted to try canoeing? horseback riding? hiking? Just do it!  Not only will it be a fun new experience but it will help you sneak some good-for-the-body exercise in.
  • Spend a little more time at each place you visit. Rather than hopping from one place to the next, why not slow down and really get to see where you are visiting?
  • Make the effort to purchase more produce and food items locally from where you are staying- Not only will you be supporting the local economy but you will also most likely be eating healthier and fresher food!
We'd love to hear about some of the RV related resolutions you've made in the past that have worked for you as well as those that you may have made this year.  Comment here or on our Facebook or Twitter page!  We can't wait to see all of you at the park in 2013!

We Wish You a Merry Christmas

We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas!
Just as the song goes, we to want to wish you a merry Christmas.  From all of us here at Pioneer RV Park thank you for the great year that we have had, the friends that we got to connect with and the new ones that we have made.

We are excited for 2013 and what the new year will bring!

We were able to attend the Quincy holiday celebration Friday the 7th (rightly named) Sparkle.
Here are just a few pictures that we were able to snap of the event.

Childrens Choir singing at the Sparkle event in Qunicy California

We really enjoyed the music, the children's choir as well as the high school choir in front of the Quincy court house in the picture above.

The evening was bright, crisp which made the parade even better. What a great time we all had and look forward to next year!
